The training and guidance session for students taking the Peregrine exam was conducted as part of the VNU University of Economics and Business' efforts to implement the accreditation plan for its academic programs under ACBSP standards. The event, held on April 1, 2023, was designed to enhance the quality of teaching and learning while aligning with the university's strategy for internationalization, educational reform, and program standardization.
The session was attended by Associate Professor Dr. Le Trung Thanh, Rector of the VNU University of Economics and Business (UEB), faculty members from the Peregrine exam preparation team, the ACBSP accreditation task force, the Center for Education Quality Assurance, faculty leaders, and students and alumni participating in the Peregrine exam.
In his opening speech, Associate Professor Dr. Le Trung Thanh emphasized the significance of the Peregrine exam, not only in serving the ACBSP accreditation process but also in providing substantial benefits to students and alumni. He highlighted that the exam results reflect the university’s training quality, graduate competencies, and faculty teaching effectiveness. Furthermore, he affirmed that the exam serves as evidence of the university’s commitment to students and society, reinforcing its mission and values in higher education.
According to the plan, the VNU UEB will nominate students and alumni to participate in the Peregrine exam in April 2023. In the first round, 100 students from cohorts QH-2018-E, QH-2019-E, and QH-2020-E were selected from the Faculty of Accounting and Auditing, the Faculty of Finance and Banking, the Faculty of Economics and International Business, and the Institute of Business Administration.
To ensure that students and alumni achieve the best possible results, the exam preparation team has conducted review sessions covering relevant subjects, guided students on how to log in to the exam software, and provided important instructions for the testing process and registration. Additionally, the team has proposed suitable policies to encourage participation, such as awarding bonus points for student conduct evaluation and offering priority consideration for postgraduate studies.
Based on the working sessions with the exam organizer Peregrine Global Services, Dr. Luu Ngoc Hiep—Head of the exam preparation and guidance team—discussed with faculty members and students the exam participation process, technical aspects, test-taking strategies, as well as potential challenges and solutions during the exam.
Along with that, faculty members in the exam preparation and guidance team focused on reviewing the key content from the 12 CPC (Common Professional Components)—the fundamental components of the academic curriculum—as well as the requirements set by ACBSP that students need to meet throughout their studies and research.
