Seminar: “RECEIVING COMMENTS TO IMPROVE TRAINING QUALITY - ACBSP INTERNATIONAL ACCREDITATION” AND MEETING WITH ALUMNI CONTACT COMMITTEE FOR THE 3RD QUARTER OF 2024

On October 5, 2024, the University of Economics and Business- VNU successfully organized the Seminar “Receiving comments to improve training quality - ACBSP international accreditation” and met with the Alumni Conn. Committee for the 3rd quarter of 2024.

This is an important event, creating an opportunity for the School to listen to and receive valuable comments from Employers, Parents' Committee, Alumni Association and students in improving training quality in a professional manner, meeting international accreditation standards. economic.

The seminar was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Trung Thanh - Rector of the University of Economics and Business; Dr. Hoang Khac Lich and Dr. Pham Minh Tuan - Vice Rector of the University, teachers who are leaders of Faculties/Institutes and units in the University. In particular, the seminar was attended by the Alumni Association, Employers, Parent Liaison Committee and excellent students of the University's "Elite in Talent" program.

The seminar consisted of two main parts:

Part 1. Receiving opinions from relevant parties to improve the quality of training - international accreditation ACBSP;

Part 2. Meeting with the Alumni Liaison Committee in the third quarter of 2024.

The implementation of collecting opinions from stakeholders will help the School identify the strengths, weaknesses, needs and expectations of employers who want learners to achieve after completing their studies at the school as well as the skills that learners must have to work and develop themselves in the future. Based on the opinions of stakeholders, the School will absorb and adjust the training programs to suit the requirements and changes of social life.

The seminar recorded many meaningful presentations from speakers who are experts and businesses, providing insightful and practical perspectives in improving the quality of training.

The first presentation: "The process of self-assessment of training programs of the University of Economics according to ACBSP accreditation standards" by Dr. Nguyen Thi Hong Thuy, Head of the Accounting - Auditing Department, Head of the ACBSP Implementation Team of the school, gave a comprehensive view of the process of self-assessment of training programs, affirming that self-assessment is a necessary factor to ensure the quality of the school.

The presentation provided information on the meaning, role, and importance of quality assessment according to ACBSP standards as well as the process of the school implementing the process of self-identification, reviewing, adjusting training programs, writing self-assessment reports and submitting documents to prepare for the external assessment process... This is considered a process of change from awareness to action of the school's leaders in line with the trend of internationalization and approaching the world's educational quality.

The second presentation: "Improving training quality from the recruitment story of MSB Bank" by Ms. Vu Thi Phuong - Director of commercial customer segment of MSB Bank shared about the need to recruit high-quality human resources and the role of education in preparing human resources to meet the requirements of businesses.

The presentation provided the discussion with general information about the education and training system of Vietnam, the results of surveys from businesses, the expectations from businesses for the national education system and for new graduates.

In particular, the presentation showed the recruitment situation from MSB Bank itself, the strengths and weaknesses of new graduates, the reasons why graduates do not get the jobs they want and suggested to the School the points that need to be improved to improve the quality of training, meeting the expectations of businesses.

Third presentation: “From lecture hall to practice” by Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Uyen, Deputy General Director of Dat Xanh Mien Bac.

The presentation mentioned the expectations of businesses from graduates, what students have, do not have and are weak at, the shortcomings and limitations of the training program, the application of knowledge from theory to practice as well as suggestions for the School on factors that need to be adjusted and supplemented so that graduates have better opportunities in work.

The discussion devoted a lot of time for the Alumni Association, Employers, Parents and students to discuss and contribute many practical and meaningful ideas to the School.

Part two of the Discussion is the meeting of the Alumni Liaison Committee for the third quarter of 2024.

This is a regular activity of the Association and brings great significance not only to students and the School but also a place for alumni to meet, exchange, interact and support each other in work and in social life.
