Recently, students from UEB had the opportunity to participate in an engaging British-standard lecture given by guest speaker Dr. Loukas Balafoutas from the University of Exeter. The topic was "Economics of Information - How Information is Power and Experiments with Taxi Drivers and IT Experts.
Aiming to develop a continually innovative and creative international learning environment, UEB has been actively connecting and organizing seminars and discussions with speakers and professors from globally renowned universities in countries like Germany, the UK, the USA, South Korea, Italy, and India.
Most recently, on March 7, 2024, UEB students engaged in a mock lecture and interaction session with Dr. Loukas Balafoutas from the University of Exeter, UK. The discussion also featured Dr. Nguyen Duc Bao, Deputy Director in charge of CITE, and Ms. Nguyen Li Le, Vice President of VBUK.
The students experienced a standard British lecture on the intriguing topic of Information Economics - detailing how information can be a powerful tool and exploring experiments involving taxi drivers and IT experts. As an experimental economist, Dr. Balafoutas delivered a vibrant lecture on Information Economics, incorporating economic questions that are closely related to the daily lives of students.
This was not only an opportunity to experience engaging teaching methods but also a chance for the students at UEB to gain deeper insights into British culture and the academic environment at the University of Exeter, which is among the top 20 universities in the UK.
