UEB’s Business and Economics has been listed in THE WUR by Subjects 2023

The Times Higher Education ranking organization (THE – a prestigious university ranking organization, headquartered in the UK) announced the world university ranking by subjects in 2023 (THE WUR by Subjects 2023). Accordingly, 6 Vietnamese higher education institutions were listed in the world rankings in different fields.

In this evaluation period, Vietnam National University, Hanoi has two newly listed fields: Business and Economics and Life Sciences.

Accordingly, Vietnam National University, Hanoi is the first public university in Vietnam to enter the THE ranking in Business and Economics. This field is also managed and taught by UEB.

It is known that THE World University Ranking by Subject evaluates 11 fields of universities based on 3 data sources: survey results (conducted independently by THE), scientific publications on the database of Scopus (owned by Elsevier Publishing), and data provided by higher education institutions.

Scoring weights are standardized by THE for each specific field. The ranking results are evaluated based on 5 groups of criteria including Teaching - Research - Citation – Industry Income - International Outlook.

The field of Business & Management Studies also shows improvement by year in QS ranking

In the 2023 evaluation round, Vietnam National University, Hanoi maintained its position in the top 501-550 in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) ranking in the field of Business and Management Studies.

QS Ranking compares 1,400 training programs of more than 1,000 leading universities in different countries according to five criteria: Academic reputation; Recruitment reputation; Average citation rate per article; H index – measuring the productivity and impact of scientific publications of lecturers; and International research network.

UEB is one of VNU’s member universities that has the largest number of exchange students and has pioneered in conducting domestic student exchange with leading universities in Vietnam. 

Within the scope of the international student exchange program, many UEB students have the opportunity to visit more than 50 universities and research institutes in 15 countries and territories, without having to pay additional tuition fees.

At the same time, the university also welcomes hundreds of undergraduate and postgraduate students from the US, Australia, Japan, France... to visit and study every year.

In addition to international learning opportunities, students also have the opportunity to expand their experience with many regional cultures and to individualize training activities according to their needs. The quality of student enrollment through annual entrance exam scores has continuously increased in recent years, demonstrating the reputation and prestige of UEB’s brand to society and learners.

In addition, accreditation of education institutions and training programs is key for UEB to affirm its training quality with an expectation that its training quality is always associated with domestic and international accreditation. The university is also a pioneer in converting training programs from standard systems to high-quality systems, based on economic and technical norms, to meet the increasing demands of society.
