UEB, in collaboration with the Central Propaganda Department and Vietnam National University, Hanoi, organized the scientific seminar "Sustainable Development of Vietnam's Marine Economy." The seminar was held with the aim of promoting the implementation of Resolution 36, proposing some tasks and solutions for the sustainable development of the marine economy in the new situation.
After 5 years of implementing Resolution 36, the marine economy has made important development steps, creating development drivers for each locality and the whole country. At the same time, the seminar focused on the direction of content and methods of propaganda about the sea and islands nationwide in 2024 and the following years.
The seminar emphasized several key points in the development of Vietnam's marine economy: First, it is necessary to continue perfecting the system of policies and laws on sustainable development of the marine economy. This includes improving the effectiveness and efficiency of policy and law enforcement and resolving conflicts and overlaps in legal documents.
Second, there should be specific policies for each sector and locality in developing the marine economy. This involves enhancing the role of enterprises and localities, closely combining the marine economy with national security, defense, and environmental protection.
Third, the effectiveness of international cooperation in developing the marine economy needs to be enhanced. This includes focusing resources on external information work and actively participating in international trade agreements related to the marine economy, consistently maintaining a stance of peace, security, safety, and freedom of navigation in the South China Sea.
