The Faculty of Development Economics is an affiliate of VNU University of Economics and Business (UEB). The Faculty's dynamic and harmonious growth has been a key factor in enhancing the academic standing of the university, thereby contributing significantly to addressing both theoretical and practical issues that arise during the country's development and international integration. By 2030, the Faculty of Development Economics aims to become a national leader in training and research in the field of development economics.
1. Mission:
Providing high-quality human resources at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels oriented towards leaders in public organizations and enterprises, economic data and policy analysts, policy planners and development strategists, and innovative startup entrepreneurs. Conducting scientific research, transferring knowledge, and engaging in international cooperation in the fields of development economics to contribute to economic and social development. Creating a favorable environment to create, nurture and develop talents in economics and modern management.
2. Vision:
By 2030, the faculty will be known as a leading institution for training and scientific research in development economics in Vietnam, with programs accredited by reputable international higher education quality assurance organizations.

4. Strategic Plan:
(1) Increase enrollment scale associated with conditions to ensure training quality. The faculty aims to achieve annual increase the number of leaners 16% in scale by 2025.
(2) Develop and diversify the training programs. Review and design development economics programs that align with economic and technical standards. Update undergraduate curricula, including new fields such as Economic Informatics and Data Science; Investment and Development Economics. Introduce new postgraduate programs, including a Ph.D. in Development Economics and a Master's in Economic and Business Data Analytics.
(3) Conduct the accreditation of the Bachelor of Development Economics program to obtain ACBSP certification for the 2025-2030 period.
(4) Enhance the activities of the faculty’s existing strong research groups. Develop scientific research activities with a focus on applied research.
(5) Increase both the quantity and quality of international publications in the WoS/Scopus system. Aim for an annual average of one WoS/Scopus-indexed journal article per faculty member with a Ph.D. Strengthen policy consulting and the transfer of other deliverables
(6) Foster collaborative research and training partnerships with organizations, businesses, and universities both domestically and internationally. Promote the execution of research projects to enhance faculty expertise and contribute to the development of economic and social policies.
(7) Increase the proportion of full-time lecturers/instructors by 12% annually.
(8) Enhance the application of information technology and AI in teaching and research activities.
