UEB Welcomes New Graduate Students in Second Intake Ceremony for 2024

On November 9, 2024, nearly 200 new master and doctoral students, admitted in the second intake of 2024, recently participated in a formal matriculation ceremony at VNU University of Economics and Business (UEB). The event marked the beginning of a promising academic journey filled with potential for success.


 

Dr. Hoang Khac Lich, Vice Rector of UEB and Dr. Vu Duy, Deputy Head of the Training Department welcomed nearly 200 new master's and doctoral students at a special matriculation ceremony. Faculty representatives were also present to introduce the incoming students to UEB's academic environment and share the university's mission and values.

In his address, Dr. Lich shared valuable insights gleaned from his own academic and professional journey. He emphasized UEB's commitment to providing high-quality human resources, training specialists and leaders for society. He highlighted the university's dedication to continuous improvement, actively seeking student feedback to refine its programs and maintain an open and internationally integrated learning environment, a hallmark of its 50 years of development.

Dr. Lich offered words of encouragement to the incoming students: "I wish you all good health, success in your endeavors, and the acquisition of new knowledge and skills to thrive professionally and personally."

Ms. Luong Thuy Linh (Miss World Vietnam 2019), a newly enrolled PhD student in International Economics, shared her perspective on education: "Knowledge is the key that unlocks doors of opportunity, leading us to better places and enabling us to become valuable citizens." She also expressed her desire to "explore various professions and different aspects of life."

The ceremony prepared incoming students for their studies by outlining academic regulations, guidelines, and expectations.

Mr. Le Van Duc, former President of the Beone English Club and a new master's student, shared his reasons for choosing UEB: "I decided to pursue my master's degree immediately after graduating with a bachelor's in International Economics from UEB. Throughout my time here, I've found UEB to be a highly international environment. Beyond its reputable programs and faculty, the university also prioritizes developing its facilities to enhance the learning experience."

Mr. Dang Anh Hao, Deputy General Director and Member of the Board of Directors at Viet Nam Bank For Industry & Trade Securities JSC (VietinBank Securities), shared some of the challenges he anticipates in balancing his studies with his professional responsibilities. His questions were addressed in detail by UEB staff during the ceremony.

Ms. Nguyen Hai Linh, a valedictorian in Business Administration, former member of the UEB Student Union Executive Committee, and current lecturer at Dai Nam University, shared: "After four years at UEB, I have unwavering confidence in the quality of education here. The faculty are experienced and knowledgeable, equipping me with the comprehensive knowledge and skills necessary for both research and my current teaching role."

Ms. Tran Phuong Mai, former President of the Protocol Unit PU at UEB and a newly admitted master's student in International Economics, commented: "I see immense potential in my chosen field, offering opportunities for career advancement. As a UEBer, the advantage of scholarships for continuing education also influenced my decision to return to UEB for my master's degree."

The matriculation ceremony ended on a high note, with palpable excitement for the journey ahead. UEB welcomes its newest students and encourages them to embrace a spirit of discovery and reach their full potential.
