At the 2025 National Mathematics Olympiad, students from VNU University of Economics and Business (UEB), achieved remarkable success by winning four awards in the Algebra category.

The 31st National Mathematics Olympiad for Students and Pupils was co-organized by the Vietnam Mathematical Society and Saigon University, under the auspices of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association.

This year, UEB students earned a total of 04 awards in Algebra, specifically:

02 Third Prizes: Nguyễn Minh Anh and Nguyễn Hồng Anh

02 Consolation Prizes: Nguyễn Quốc Anh and Nguyễn Thị Huế

This marks the third consecutive year that Nguyễn Minh Anh, a student of class QH-2022E-KTQT 1, has participated in the National Mathematics Olympiad. In previous years, she earned several distinguished honors, including Second Prize in Calculus (2023), Second Prize in Calculus and Third Prize in Algebra (2024).

“This year, the Olympiad preparation period coincided with the final stages of my research project, so balancing academic work and scientific research was truly a major challenge. At times, I felt I had to give 200% to manage everything. However, thanks to the experience I gained from two previous Olympiads and the dedicated support of Dr. Phạm Quang Khoái, my preparation went relatively smoothly. I focused on solving different types of problems, training my problem-solving mindset, and reinforcing foundational knowledge.”

“We always uphold the Olympic spirit of connection and experience. Outside of the competition sessions, the UEB team had the chance to explore Ho Chi Minh City, especially its many historically significant sites. We also met and exchanged experiences with students from universities across the country. This was truly a memorable and enriching journey for me.” – Nguyễn Minh Anh reflected on this year’s competition.

Another awardee, Nguyễn Hồng Anh — a student of class QH-2022E-TCNH4 — shared her thoughts after winning a Third Prize:

“I was truly surprised and overjoyed to learn that I had won a Third Prize this year. This recognition is not only a personal honor but also a strong source of motivation for me to continue pursuing my passion. I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the UEB lecturers who supported and encouraged us throughout our preparation and participation in the competition. In particular, I am deeply thankful to Dr. Phạm Quang Khoái from the Faculty of Development Economics, who directly mentored our team. I was especially impressed by his teaching approach — concise, accessible, and always inspiring. Thank you, thầy, for your academic and emotional support, which made our journey in Saigon truly unforgettable.”

These accomplishments represent a proud milestone for UEB students at one of the most prestigious academic competitions for students nationwide – especially in the field of Mathematics, which serves as a foundational discipline for research and application in economics, finance, and management.
