On October 31, 2024, the VNU Hanoi Student Scientific Research Competition 2024 took place in Hoa Lac, showcasing significant advancements in scale, quality, and impact among VNU students. UEB students shone brightly, with four teams earning an impressive array of awards: one first-place prize, one second-place prize, two third-place prizes, and one award for outstanding poster presentation.
Student research has long been a core focus of VNU's training and research strategy, demonstrating the university's scientific and technological capabilities. This competition provides students, particularly those from UEB, a platform to showcase their talent and passion for research while fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange among students from various VNU institutions.
The organizing committee awarded five first-place prizes, eight second-place prizes, and 16 third-place prizes for outstanding projects. Additionally, four projects received awards for outstanding poster presentations, one received the people's choice award, and three were recognized for their application potential. UEB's four winning teams garnered significant recognition.
UEB congratulates Le Huyen Trang, Tran Bao Ngoc, and Pham Thuy Linh for winning first place and the outstanding poster presentation award for their project, "Quantifying Sustainability: A Sectoral and Farm-Level Indicator System for Multiple-Benefit Aquaculture in Quang Ninh Province (Vietnam)."
The second-place prize went to Luong Ngoc Hai and Nguyen Phuong Nga for their project, "An Analysis of Stock Crash and How It Spreads Over the Vietnamese Stock Market."
The two third-place awards went to the projects "Impacts of Global Value Chain Participation on Industrial Upgrading: A Cross-country Analysis" by Dang Quynh Chi, To Ngoc Lan, and Phan Duc Thao Nguyen, and "Stated and Elicited Preferences for Farmers’ Willingness to Organic Farming Conversion: A Lab-in-the-Field Experiment" by Nguyen Minh Hien, Ngo Hoang Long, Duong Viet Hoang, Tran Thi Mai Khanh, and Nguyen Do Phuong Hoa.
Known for its strong research focus, UEB encourages students to apply their knowledge to practical research projects under the guidance of faculty members. These projects contribute to socio-economic development by addressing real-world challenges faced by businesses and the economy.
