UEB Leadership's New Year's Greetings for 2025.
To all faculty, staff, researchers, students, alumni, and domestic and international partners of the University of Economics, National University of Hanoi (UEB):
As the gentle spring breeze heralds the new year, we share in the warm and heartfelt emotions of this auspicious time. The Year of the Black Cat (2025) brings with it the breath of hopeful beginnings, a moment for reflection on the past year and the energizing preparation for new heights ahead.
2024 marked a momentous year for UEB, culminating in the 50th Anniversary Celebration (1974-2024), honoring our rich history, and the bestowal of the Third-Class Labor Medal—a prestigious national award presented by General Secretary Tô Lâm. This recognition not only acknowledges our unwavering efforts over the past half-century but also serves as powerful inspiration for our faculty, staff, students, and alumni to continue building upon our legacy with dedication, knowledge, and ambition.
UEB has consistently demonstrated its commitment to excellence in education, applied research, and innovation across all aspects of its operations. A growing number of outstanding alumni and current students, alongside our faculty, are contributing their intellect to the nation's progress. 2024 saw a series of successful international economic conferences and forums, a significant increase in the quantity and quality of international publications, and curriculum innovations designed to meet societal needs and student aspirations. Notably, this year, the National University of Hanoi (VNU)—with the significant and effective contributions of the University of Economics—achieved a QS Ranking of 451-500 globally in the field of Economics and Econometrics. This achievement follows earlier successes in placing VNU in the THE and QS rankings for Economics & Business, and Business and Management Studies. This accomplishment elevates VNU-UEB on the international stage, contributing to national development and the education of talented, intelligent citizens ready to serve their country.
We live in an era where knowledge is power and innovation is the key to the future. At UEB, we are proud that each member—faculty, staff, students, alumni, and partners—is an integral part of our journey toward creating sustainable value, overcoming challenges, achieving success, and contributing positively to society.
In the coming year, the University of Economics will continue to pursue its goals of "Decisiveness – Completion – Efficiency – Establishing International Standing" through key initiatives, including digital transformation, enhanced educational quality, expanded international collaborations, optimized financial management, and infrastructure development.
On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, on behalf of the UEB leadership, we extend our warmest wishes for a prosperous new year filled with good health, great success, and abundant happiness to all faculty, staff, researchers, students, alumni, and partners.
Sincerely,
[UEB Leadership]
