The rooftop solar power is also the theme of the forum, which was organized to gather opinions and propose solutions for the development of rooftop solar power (RTSP) in industrial parks (IPs), taking advantage of the green energy from rooftop solar power systems to help businesses quickly achieve their green goals and carbon neutrality in Vietnam.

Participants from the University of Economics and Business included: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Anh Thu - Vice Rector, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Viet - Deputy Director of the Institute of Economic and Policy Research.

The program also featured the presence of representatives of the leadership of local authorities, Departments of Industry and Trade, Departments of Construction, Management Boards of economic zones and industrial parks, leaders of businesses in the seafood, garment, electronics, steel industries and processing and manufacturing businesses in industrial parks, representatives of industrial park investors, businesses in industrial parks, solution providers, and media agencies who attended and reported on the event.

At the forum, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Anh Thu - Vice Rector of the University of Economics and Business said: "Renewable energy is prioritized for strong development in Power Plan VIII to meet the requirements of fair energy transition. Implementing Power Plan VIII, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has drafted a Decree regulating the mechanism to encourage rooftop solar power, in line with the planning of the national energy system."

The forum included two sessions, the session 1: Presentations and discussions on the benefits and competitiveness of renewable energy, focusing on the issues of financial benefits, improved competitiveness when manufacturing enterprises use renewable energy; actual benefits of enterprises that have used RTSP in IPs (real data from a survey by the VEPR research group); RTSP in the supporting industry and food processing industry; renewable energy, criteria for ecological IPs; difficulties from the reality of businesses. While, the session 2: Presentations and discussions on implementation solutions and investment finance issues revolving around the contents of Financial solutions for enterprises with energy transition needs; construction solutions for manufacturing enterprises; new technologies, safety solutions for RTSP systems in IPs; standards for equipment used for RTSP systems; international experience and application in Vietnam; proposals and comments on building an RTSP development plan in IPs.
