Recently, the University of Economics and Business (UEB) organized a series of experiential classes for high school students in Hanoi, notably at Vinschool Times City, Marie Curie High School (Ha Dong), and M.V. Lomonosov High School. These sessions provided an opportunity for students to explore the university learning environment, engage with new knowledge, discover academic fields, and clarify their future educational paths. More than just trial classes, these experiential sessions at UEB offered a practical and interactive learning environment, helping students gain a deeper understanding of specific disciplines and equipping them with essential skills for university study.
Experiential Class on Marketing - Communications and Brand Management
UEB conducted an engaging experiential class on Marketing - Communications and Brand Management for students at Marie Curie High School (Ha Dong) as part of a career counseling event. Under the guidance of Dr. Dao Cam Thuy, Head of the Marketing Department, Institute of Business Administration, students explored real-world approaches to brand building, customer engagement strategies, and current marketing trends. The class combined theoretical instruction with real-world examples, helping students understand the critical role of marketing in business.
In addition to the faculty presentation, students participated in an interactive mini-game, receiving prizes from UEB and engaging in a Q&A session about the field and career opportunities in marketing. The dynamic and open atmosphere of the class helped students discover new fields while gaining valuable insights into the university environment and future career pathways. This experience provided Marie Curie students with an introduction to international academic standards, inspiring them as they consider their higher education choices.
Experiential Class on Economics
The experiential class at UEB offered Vinschool Times City students new perspectives on the various fields of study within economics. Under the guidance of Dr. Dang Trung Tuyen, Lecturer in the Faculty of Political Economics, students learned about different specializations, potential career paths, and opportunities for future growth. Using a relatable and engaging approach, supplemented with real-world examples, Dr. Tuyen created an energetic learning environment where students enthusiastically participated in discussions, asked questions, and engaged with humorous illustrations. This atmosphere made the class a memorable experience, facilitating natural and inspiring learning.
In addition to the faculty presentation, Vinschool students interacted with Nguyen Dinh Phan, a second-year UEB student, to learn about university life, study methods, and extracurricular activities. Furthermore, the students participated in a mini-game organized by UEB Admissions, offering engaging prizes and moments of relaxation. This combination of professional knowledge and hands-on activities made the class both enjoyable and impactful, providing students with a clearer understanding as they consider future educational options.
Experiential Class on Development Economics
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen An Thinh, Dean of the Faculty of Development Economics, directly taught and interacted with students from class 12K at M.V. Lomonosov High School during a special experiential session. Dr. Thinh provided in-depth information on Development Economics, a high-potential field that equips students with understanding of economic development models, data analysis skills, and the ability to formulate sustainable development policies at the local, regional, and national levels.
Using an approachable style, strong expertise, and real-world examples, Dr. Nguyen An Thinh captured the attention of the students, creating a dynamic and engaging exchange space. He emphasized that a well-rounded student needs not only knowledge but also the ability to be quick-witted, resilient, creative, and adaptable to living and working environments. These are the factors that employers seek, the keys to help each individual develop sustainably in the future. It is hoped that after this special session, students will have a new and nuanced understanding of Development Economics, enabling them to make informed decisions regarding their choice of major and university in the 2025 admissions season.
