International cooperation has always been considered a key method by the VNU-UEB to improve its capacity and position in the region and the world, build a dynamic and professional working and learning environment with high internationalization, contributing to creating global citizens.
In recent years, international cooperation at UEB has been implemented with many creative methods, focusing on depth and efficiency. In implementing the University's Development Strategy for 2020-2025 and Vision to 2030, international cooperation is of particular interest to the University, especially in training global citizens who meet the strict requirements of the domestic and international labor markets. According to statistics, UEB currently has nearly 100 cooperation agreements with nearly 70 partners in countries in Europe, Asia, America, and Australia. In 2023, the University strengthened, promoted, and expanded its relationships with partners in the United States, bringing many benefits to learners and lecturers at UEB. Cooperation activities focus on the following areas:
- Student exchange cooperation
- Training cooperation
- Academic exchange cooperation
- Research cooperation
1. Development of international joint training programs
VNU-UEB has cooperated with US universities to implement the two joint training programs in Business Administration, including The two joint training program between Two Bachelor program in of Business Administration programs offered by two leading US universities, Troy University and University of St. Francis., are increasingly developing and are bright spots in the development of joint training at UEB. These training programs are designed in a flexible manner and are quality-assured according to international standards. In addition to the opportunity to bring students to the "land of freedom", these programs also offer opportunities for international exchange at nearly 60 major universities in 15 countries, without having to pay additional tuition fees. In 2023, the university leaders directly visited and worked with partners in the United States and promptly developed a Strategy to improve the quality of international joint training programs to attract more students to register for "on-site study abroad" programs at UEB.
2. Bringing Students to the World with 2+2 Cooperation Programs
With the aim of becoming a “UEB Global”, the university has continuously expanded its international joint training programs at various levels with US partners. Currently, the VNU University of Economics and Business is implementing many 2+2 joint training programs with the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD).
Specifically, UMD will:
- Promote cooperation programs for scientists.
- Organize seminars to create a forum for academic exchange with UEB.
- Exchange prestigious scientific publications between the two universities.
- Support UEB students in finding valuable funding sources such as the Fulbright program.
- Enhance opportunities for study and research in the United States.
- Bring UMD experts and scholars to work at VNU-UEB.
3. International Cooperation Brings Job Opportunities for Students at Leading US Corporations
In 2023, the VNU University of Economics and Business continued to expand and strengthen its relationship with important partners in the United States such as the University of Arizona, the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, and the University of California Riverside to continue to bring special benefits to UEBers: valuable scholarships, sponsorship of regional and international specialized seminars, sponsorship of research for UEB lecturers and students...
In particular, IMA, in collaboration with Smart Train, a vocational certification training organization, will offer 20 "CMA - THE FUTURE CFO" scholarships to outstanding UEB students, including full registration and exam fees for the entire CMA program worth $1,475/scholarship; 01 scholarship worth 60% of tuition fee worth VND 37,800,000/scholarship; and 09 scholarships worth 40% of tuition fee worth VND 25,200,000/scholarship.
Over the past time, Vietnam and the United States have strongly developed cooperative relations between universities in the field of training and research. The VNU University of Economics and Business advocates for diversifying and focusing international cooperation in the direction of being both a goal and a motivation, contributing to building internal capacity to implement the overall development strategy of the University.
