2023 continues to be the year the University of Economics - VNU is comprehensively renovated, continuously affirming its position and role in all fields: training, scientific research and knowledge transfer. Gradually integrating regional and international education...

1. The pioneer of VNU University of Economics and Business

- The UEB has successfully reviewed and amended the university's charter and regulations to ensure compliance with the Law on Higher Education. Restructured the university's organizational apparatus to make it more efficient and effective.

- Approval of renovating the operating mechanism towards autonomy. The implementation of autonomy in enrollment and innovation of training programs, the organization of the apparatus and infrastructure are the premises for continuing to improve the quality and efficiency of operations and create motivation to promote the development of the institution.

2. Successfully hosted international conferences/workshops/projects

With the participants of diploma executives, national departments and Governments, scientists and the management experts from many educational institutions.

3. Achieving KPIs in different fields

- The admission rate for the 7 regular undergraduate programs reached 102% of the initial target.

- The university successfully organized new admission methods, providing early university admission opportunities for students.

- The average admission grade was high, ranking in the top 3 of economic and business schools in Northern Vietnam.

- The graduation rate on time in 2023 reached 85.2%, becoming the highest in the VNU Hanoi. 

4. Journal of Economics and Business is indexed in the Thomson Reuters Emerging Markets Citation Index (ESCI) with a score of 1 point (both Vietnamese and English editions)

In just over 2 years since its separation from the VNU Journal of Science and its upgrade to an independent journal under the University of Economics, the Journal of Economics & Business has made great efforts to affirm its integrity in scientific publishing as well as its influence on the research community.

5. Breakthrough in communication and branding

The university's events are organized in a solemn and attractive manner, hence loved by students and widely communicated through many types of products, and published on reputable newspapers and television stations. This has contributed to improvement of the brand awareness of UEB with learners, partners, and society.

6. Successful signing of student exchange and credit recognition agreements with leading partners in the world

With 8 student exchange agreements with prestigious partners, including many highly ranked institutions such as Kelly Business School (Indiana, USA), Chiba University, Yokohama University (Japan)..., the goal of training global citizens and improving international teaching capacity for lecturers continues to be developed.

7. Breakthrough in the system, process in modern university administration

In 2023, UEB continued to improve the management process, making a breakthrough in the construction of a plan and successfully deploying a series of software applications and technological solutions into management work to improve productivity, quality, and aim for a university training management system. For the first time, UEB developed a solution to apply university entrance examination software, improving the workload "without having to enter data directly from the application file, ensuring quick, accurate, and convenient for candidates and society, highly appreciated by the University's admission work by many prestigious experts.

8. Adjustment and promulgation of training programs

In 2023, UEB has completed adjusting and promulgating: 05 doctoral training program proposals, 08 master training program proposals, 06 bachelor training program proposals. These proposals follow the regulations of: Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) and the ACBSP international accreditation.

Specifically, UEB successfully implemented self-assessment and completed external assessment of 02 undergraduate training programs in Business Administration and Accounting. It targeted 100% of undergraduate training programs accredited and certified to meet quality standards.

Relating to the ACBSP accreditation steps, the UEB programs are under Phase 1 accreditation, with the highlight of delegation participating in the Peregrine exam. As the result came out, UEB achieved a high score in the top (63.64%) - higher than the average in the US (50.33%).

9. Expanding lecture hall, developing and morderning facilities synchronously

In 2023, E5 building lecture hall was put into use with a scale of 11 classrooms, 3 functional rooms, and a creative space invested with full modern equipment, well meeting the needs of teaching and learning as well as creating a common living space for student clubs.

The successful investment in upgrading the wifi network infrastructure in the lecture halls aims to strengthen the infrastructure capacity, serving the work of training, research and learning in the period of strong development of information technology and AI applications.

10. Enhancing Internal Resources

Expanding the scholarship program for students

Enhancing the student's extra curricula & events. With the aim of equipping students with 6 skill pillars to develop and improve themselves, the Board of Directors and other executives resolutely implement them to invest both financial and human resources in developing skills for student clubs.
