Dr. Hoang Ngoc Quang, Lecturer at the Faculty of Political Economy, VNU University of Economics and Business recently participated in an international training program on E-Commerce, Logistics, and Packaging in India. The program not only enriched his professional knowledge but also served as a bridge between academic theory and real-world practice, opening new avenues for international collaboration in the context of global digital transformation. Let us revisit the remarkable academic journey of Dr. Hoang Ngoc Quang during his recent international training program.
Expanding global perspectives through India’s ITEC Program
The training course, titled "Advances in E-Commerce and Logistics in Packaging", was held under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Program sponsored by the Government of India. Hosted by the Indian Institute of Packaging - a leading institution in packaging and logistics research - the program brought together professionals, researchers, and lecturers from 16 countries. Participants engaged in collaborative discussions and knowledge exchange on emerging trends and challenges in e-commerce, logistics, and packaging.
Over the span of 11 days, the program offered in-depth lectures on modern e-commerce systems, key issues in logistics, and innovations in packaging design and production for global supply chains. Particularly valuable were the academic discussions and hands-on laboratory experiences, which facilitated a deeper understanding of the integration between theory and practice in this evolving field.
Exploring technological innovations and practical solutions in industry
Throughout the course, participants engaged in intensive lectures, academic discussions, and expert-led seminars delivered by leading Indian professionals. Beyond theoretical learning, the program incorporated practical lab sessions and field visits to major corporations specializing in packaging production for e-commerce and logistics. These field visits were among the most valuable experiences of the training program. During these site visits, I had the opportunity to observe advanced technological processes firsthand and interact directly with corporate experts and technicians. These interactions allowed me to better understand practical solutions and emerging technologies in the packaging and logistics sectors, while also identifying potential avenues for international collaboration in developing sustainable packaging solutions and improving supply chain efficiency.
Learning about packaging innovation and sustainable development
The training course offered not only deeper insights into modern trends in e-commerce and logistics but also comprehensive knowledge of preservation packaging technologies and sustainable packaging solutions. A particularly memorable session focused on environmentally friendly packaging, where I engaged with leading experts to explore design approaches that balance environmental protection with the functional demands of the e-commerce and logistics industries.
The integration of technological innovation and sustainability emerged as a key theme throughout the course. This reflects a global trend in the development of packaging solutions, and I hope to apply the knowledge and insights gained from the program to contribute to the growth of Vietnam’s packaging industry.
Building global connections and knowledge exchange
Beyond academic enrichment, the program provided a meaningful opportunity to connect and share experiences with fellow participants from diverse countries. Group discussions and cultural exchanges offered a wealth of knowledge and facilitated the formation of valuable international relationships. We were not merely colleagues, but friends supporting each other in our collective learning and professional development.
A meaningful learning journey
The training in India concluded successfully, leaving me with lasting impressions and invaluable experiences. The knowledge and skills acquired in e-commerce, logistics, and packaging technology have expanded my research horizons and opened new doors for international cooperation. These insights hold particular value for the development of sustainable packaging solutions, enhancing supply chain efficiency, and supporting cross-border e-commerce activities.
Participating in this program marked a significant step in bridging the gap between academic theory and practical application amid today’s global digital transformation. UEB - VNU continues to take the lead in developing high-quality human resources by creating learning opportunities through engagement with advanced international education systems. The experiential insights gained by Dr. Hoang Ngoc Quang from this international course on E-Commerce, Logistics, and Packaging in India not only contribute to professional growth but also promote global partnerships and the development of sustainable solutions in response to socio-economic demands in the era of globalization.
