Educational cooperation between Vietnam and the Russian Federation is currently flourishing. The establishment of the Russia-Vietnam Economic University Association marks a significant step forward in this collaboration. The Association has established operational regulations, defining the strategic direction for cooperation between universities in both countries and coordinating research on potential joint projects and programs.

Speaking online at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Hai Thanh, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Department, Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam, stated: "The Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam will support and facilitate universities in developing cooperative programs, organizing academic exchange activities, and sharing experiences between training institutions of the two countries. With the efforts of all parties involved, the Russia-Vietnam Economic University Association will not only usher in a new era in educational cooperation between Vietnam and the Russian Federation but also create practical values for students, lecturers, and the scientific community of both countries."

During the inaugural meeting, Dr. Pham Minh Tuan, Vice Rector of UEB, signed cooperation agreements, paving the way for numerous collaborative opportunities between Russian and Vietnamese universities. He actively participated in discussions to define strategic directions for cooperation and celebrated the Association's establishment as a major step towards enhancing the quality of economic education. Dr. Tuan also expressed his desire to strengthen cooperation with members within and outside the Association to promote scientific research, foster training partnerships, and develop faculty and student exchange programs.

On November 26 and 27, 2024, the Financial University also hosted the 9th annual International Conference, "New Economic Policy 2.0: From Adaptation to Breakthrough." This key event addressed issues related to the socio-economic development of the Russian Federation.

The conference attracted over 4,500 delegates from 20 countries, including academics, government officials, and business leaders. The forum provided a platform for experts to discuss strategic directions for building a sustainable and dynamic economy in a volatile global context.

Speaking at the conference, Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov emphasized the importance of developing a balanced budget policy and a thriving financial market to address economic challenges. Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut affirmed that Russian agriculture is a global leader in technology and plays a crucial role in ensuring global food security.

At the conference, Dr. Nguyen Tien Minh presented a paper on "Vietnam-Russia Cooperation Opportunities in the New Context: Opportunities and Challenges," highlighting the importance of building a sustainable bilateral relationship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation. He also proposed strategic recommendations to promote the development of both economies.

Furthermore, the Rector of the Financial University, Mr. Stanislav Prokofyev, shared solutions for enhancing the effectiveness of public investment and proposed expanding the Russian stock market to strengthen national competitiveness. In the field of fintech, Mr. Anatoly Aksakov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Financial Markets, introduced an initiative to develop a multi-purpose payment card integrating encryption technology, promising a major breakthrough in electronic payments.

Moscow Region Governor Andrey Vorobyov also emphasized that most foreign factories in the region continue to operate effectively despite the challenges posed by sanctions. The discussions at the conference provided innovative solutions and strategic visions, contributing to shaping the future of the global economy and promoting international cooperation.

UEB's membership in the Association of Leading Economic Universities of the Russian Federation and Vietnam will undoubtedly open up new opportunities for development and cooperation with Russian economic universities, following the established partnerships with the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation (FinU) and the Higher School of Economics (HSE) - Saint Petersburg.
