The seminar aims to enhance the exchange and sharing of information on the trends of growth, inflation, unemployment, interest rates, and macroeconomic policies in Europe and America, and their impacts and recommendations for Vietnam in 2023 and the outlook for 2024.
In the context of a global economy at risk of recession, rising inflation, geopolitical conflicts, supply chain disruptions, and trade disruptions, forecasting the economic outlook in key markets for Vietnam, such as Europe and America, is of vital importance to Vietnam, as the domestic market is still weak and private sector investment has not yet recovered. As two of Vietnam's top trading partners, the economic situation in Europe and America will have a strong impact on Vietnam's exports and imports, foreign investment attraction, and economic growth in the coming time.
Academic seminar with the topic: “European - American Economics in 2023 and Outlook for 2024: Impact and Policy Suggestions for Vietnam” will concentrate on the following main topics:
Economy of the EU in 2023 and Outlook for 2024
Economy of the Americas in 2023 and Forecast for 2024
Friend-shoring, de-risking, self-reliance: Key Trends in Global Supply Chain Realignment Strategies in 2024
Upgrading Vietnam's Value Chain in 2024
Opportunities and Challenges for Vietnamese Exports in the International Market in 2024
The Prospects for a "Soft Landing" of the Global Economy
The seminar will have the participation of a large number of policymakers, experts, international scholars, graduate students, practitioners, and students from state agencies, universities and research institutes.
Through the presentations and discussions, the speakers and guests will focus on assessing the impact of global economic disruptions, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, the energy crisis, political tensions, supply chain disruptions, rising inflation, and new trends such as the 4th Industrial Revolution, digital transformation, and sustainable development, on economic growth in Europe and the Americas, which are important export markets for Vietnam. From there, the presentations will focus on policy recommendations for Vietnam in the context of a global and domestic landscape that poses many challenges to monetary and fiscal policy management as well as financial market management and supervision in our country.
The organizing committee invites interested experts, scientists and researchers to attend the conference.
