VNU University of Economics and Business has achieved significant success in research during the first three quarters of 2024, marked by a strong presence in high-quality international publications. The impressive number of publications in top-tier journals, including leading roles in Q1 journals, solidifies UEB's position on the global academic map. Here are some highlights of UEB faculty's achievements:

Publications in the Top 1% and Top 5% of High-Impact Journals

A key highlight is the publication of articles in the top 1% and top 5% of journals with the highest impact factors in international research. This clearly demonstrates the quality and influence of UEB's research. These publications, featured in leading journals, have been recognized for their exceptional quality and impact within the field of economics. This year, UEB is proud to have two research papers in this elite group:

Top 1%: "The long-term effects of war on foreign direct investment and economic development: evidence from Vietnam" by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Van Huong (Faculty of Development Economics) was published in the Journal of Urban Economics, a leading journal in urban economics and consistently ranked in Q1 with a high Impact Factor, reflecting its academic rigor and international influence. The paper examines the relationship between war, foreign direct investment, and economic development, using Vietnam as a case study. It provides scientific evidence of the lasting impact of history on modern economies and proposes effective investment attraction policies.

Top 5%: "Climate governance and carbon risk in the global energy sector: Insights into corporate environmental initiatives" by Dr. Nguyen Huy Tam (Faculty of Accounting and Auditing) was published in Energy Economics, a high-impact journal highly ranked in the field of energy economics. The paper offers new perspectives on how global energy companies manage carbon risk, providing both in-depth analysis and valuable practical applications for sustainable business management.

These publications are not only a source of pride for the individual faculty members but also significantly enhance UEB's reputation and influence in prestigious international journals.
