On March 12, 2025, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) announced the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025, assessing 55 disciplines across five subject groups from 1,747 higher education institutions worldwide.
In the 2025 ranking results, VNU - University of Economics and Business (VNU-UEB) continues to make its mark by playing a key role as a pioneer and leader in contributing to Hanoi Vietnam National University (VNU) ranking success. This is particularly evident in three disciplines that UEB directly manages and specializes in: Business & Management Studies, Economics & Econometrics, and a newly ranked field making its debut in the QS rankings this year—Accounting & Finance. This achievement reflects the university’s sustainable development in both education and research, not only within UEB but also across VNU as a whole.
As one of the first two higher education institutions in Vietnam to have the Accounting & Finance discipline ranked in QS WUR by Subject 2025, the VNU University of Economics and Business (UEB) has been recognized for its excellence in research and education in this field.

Economics & Econometrics Ranks in the World’s Top 401-450 on the QS 2025 Ranking
The advancement in the QS WUR by Subject 2025 rankings for the disciplines primarily managed and taught by VNU - University of Economics and Business has reaffirmed the university’s position and reputation, along with its strategy of internationalization and adherence to global education quality standards. Furthermore, it has contributed to the overall success of VNU in establishing its standing on the international stage.
QS WUR by Subject 2025 – Notable Advances of VNU
In addition to the ranking improvements in the disciplines managed by the University of Economics and Business, VNU and its member institutions have achieved many remarkable results in other subject groups. A total of 12 disciplines were ranked (of which 10 out of 12 are in the top 500; 5 disciplines are ranked for the first time; and 5 disciplines have improved their ranking compared to the previous cycle).

On December 10, 2024, the QS ranking organization released the QS World University Rankings on Sustainability 2025. Accordingly, VNU made a significant leap by ranking 325th in the world, rising 456 places compared to last year’s ranking. In this ranking cycle, VNU also stood at 51st in Asia and was the top higher education institution in Vietnam.
