On March 23, 2023, the educational organization Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) announced university ranking list according to 54 fields in 5 areas of 1594 higher education institutions in 85 regions with about 18,300 training programs at universities. Therefore, VNU continues to maintain its position in key fields with 6 fields compared to 2022.
Of the 6 fields of VNU that continue to be ranked by QS WUR by Subject 2023, there are 2 fields that maintain its position: Computer Science & Information Systems – top 501-550; and Mathematics – top 351-400.
VNU remains the Top 1 in Vietnam in 2 fields: Physics & Astronomy and Business & Management Studies.
In addition, there are 2 fields that VNU continue to be ranked: Engineering & Technology and Natural Sciences, in which the field of Natural Sciences is ranked No.1 in Vietnam.
QS WUR Ranking by Subject 2023 is built based on 5 criteria with points customized to suit the fields, including:

The University of Economics and Business (UEB) is delighted to be one of the top members of VNU, the primary contributor, leading, pioneering, and reinforcing VNU's position in the area of Economics and Business rated by THE Ranking (Times Higher Education), in addition to the QS rankings. Business and Economics is the University of Economics' primary area of study and management, and it is in the top 501–600 fields worldwide. VNU became the first university in Vietnam to receive this position in this field.
Prior to this, in February 2023, on the January 2023 Webometrics Ranking, VNU also advanced 97 positions in comparison to the outcomes revealed in August 2022, from 758 to 661 in the world, maintaining the No.1 position in Vietnam.
