VNU-UEB strengthens collaboration in research & academic exchange with 9 Indian universities

For the first time, VNU-UEB welcomed 9 leading universities and businesses from India in the fields of economics and business. This opened opportunities for in-depth academic exchange at the India - Vietnam Academic Expedition event held on January 22, 2024.

The event was attended by representatives from UEB, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Anh Thu - Vice Rector, Dr. Nguyen Duc Bao - Deputy Director of the Office of Research and Partnership Development, Vice Director in charge of the Center for International Training and Education, along with leaders and lecturers from the university's faculties and institutes. Representatives from India included delegates from 9 universities such as RV University, Dayanand Sagar University, Adamas University, Swarnim Startup & Innovation University, Sangam University, Desh Bhagat University, Presidency University, Takshashila University, and KLEF University. The participants from India are all prestigious institutions in economics, business, and innovative entrepreneurship aiming for sustainable development and high-quality human resource training to meet labor market demands. This significant event opens opportunities for UEB to expand its global partner network following the 2024 education orientation and enhances the international standard training environment, solidifying its reputation as a prestigious academic destination in the region.

In discussions with the Indian representatives, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Anh Thu expressed joy at the prospect of broadening cooperation, offering exchange opportunities for students and faculty at leading Indian universities. He hoped that both sides would agree on conditions for the best exchange and study abroad opportunities for Vietnamese and Indian students and faculty.

With the goal of internationalizing education, VNU-UEB places special emphasis on training and developing faculty. Therefore, at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Vu Thanh Huong, Vice Dean of FIBE, and Associate Professor Dr. To The Nguyen, Vice Dean of the Department of Development Economics, expressed a desire to cooperate in scientific research projects, training courses, and faculty exchanges with the network of universities in India. These specialized exchange programs and academic seminars will provide opportunities for faculty members to refine and enrich their knowledge, skills, and teaching methods.

In addition, representatives from Indian universities also expressed a desire to cooperate on credit exchange programs and student exchanges between the two countries. Leveraging its strengths in organizing study tours and seminars for international students, VNU-UEB is proud to be a diverse academic experience destination, rich in Vietnamese cultural identity, promising to provide unforgettable experiences for students. Moreover, this also presents an opportunity for UEB students to explore and exchange knowledge, culture, and the learning environment at leading universities in India.

Representatives from Indian universities expressed their desire for cooperation in credit exchanges and student exchanges between the two countries.

Responding to the warm reception from VNU - UEB, Dr. Karunesh Saxena, Vice President of Sangam University, emphasized, "Education is a top development priority in India. Vietnam is also one of India's strategic partners in this field. Especially, with a shared direction in internationalizing education, UEB will undoubtedly become one of the potential strategic partners, collaborating with Indian universities to provide a professional education environment and train high-quality human resources for the future."

Dr. Karunesh Saxena, Vice President of Sangam University, India, emphasized the commonalities in educational orientation and the desire to expand cooperation with UEB in the future.

Mr. Vijay Maruthi, Director of International Relations from KL University (a member institution under KLEF University), added, "VNU – UEB impressed me with its green learning environment, creative space for students, and especially the hospitality, enthusiasm, and dedication of the faculty and staff. Indeed, I look forward to bringing Indian students to visit and directly experience the learning environment at UEB and explore the beautiful Vietnamese culture in the near future."

Mr. Vijay Maruthi, Director of International Relations from KL University (a member institution of KLEF), also participated, indicating the broad interest and potential for collaborative efforts between the involved institutions.

The event concluded successfully in a solemn and warm atmosphere. It is believed that in the future, the cooperation between UEB and the Indian universities will continue to develop, achieving many successes and bringing outstanding benefits to students on both sides.
