Today, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has demonstrated its superiority when applied and implemented in everyday life. Particularly when combined with Big Data, these technologies have significantly transformed business operations. With the explosion of digital technology, AI and Big Data are likened to the backbone of today's technological advancements. However, programs focusing on these new technologies still lack proper attention, especially in business schools. Recognizing this trend, SBA collaborated with the Kookmin Business School to organize a panel discussion on AI and Big Data for third-year students to enhance their understanding in this field.
The keynote speaker at the panel discussion was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Moon Hyunsil, a seasoned researcher in Management Information Systems (MIS), AI, Big Data, and Machine Learning. During the session, he provided fundamental knowledge on information management in business and how AI and Big Data can make business data sets more useful for enterprises. Big Data provides AI with vast, rich datasets for learning, training, and developing predictive, classification, and optimization models. Meanwhile, AI helps process complex, massive, unstructured datasets to make accurate decisions and predictions. Understanding the roles of these transformative tools enables Business Administration students to save time on analysis and, more importantly, make confident decisions in investment or system management.
The panel discussion was truly beneficial for UEB-SBA faculty and students, offering an expansive gateway to the world for Business Administration students. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Moon Hyunsil presented innovative insights into applying these tools in business. His explanations, as a long-time researcher in the field, clarified queries from SBA students – future business managers, boosting their confidence in using AI and Big Data in their careers.
