General Secretary To Lam awarded the Third-Class Labor Order to the VNU University of Economics and Business (VNU-UEB) for its contributions to training, scientific research, and technology transfer, contributing to the building of socialism and the defense of Vietnam.
On the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2024), General Secretary To Lam met with representatives of teachers and educational administrators. The program was organized by the Ministry of Education and Training in collaboration with Vietnam National University, Hanoi and VNU-UEB.
VNU-UEB, formerly the Faculty of Political Economy of Hanoi National University, was established in 1974. Over 50 years of development, with the guidance and direction of the Party, State, ministries, branches, and VNU, along with the continuous efforts of its staff, lecturers, and students throughout different periods, and the collaborative partnerships with domestic and international partners, the university has achieved remarkable results.
The university has successfully implemented a digitized, distinctive, creative, and modern university governance model, playing a key, pioneering, and leading role alongside VNU in bringing two higher education fields into prestigious world rankings. These are Business - Management Science, ranked 451-500 by QS (2021), and Business - Economics, ranked 501-600 by Times Higher Education (2023).
At that time, VNU was the first and only public institution in Vietnam to affirm the nation's educational standing internationally in these two fields.
In 2024, VNU-UEB successfully added the field of Econometrics, one of the more challenging fields, to the QS rankings at 451-500, further affirming that Vietnamese education can reach the level of other powerful nations.
In recognition of the university's achievements, the President decided to award the Third-Class Labor Order to VNU-UEB for its contributions to training, scientific research, and technology transfer, contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the country.
